My mom was a senior in high school when I was born and she often tells the story

My mom was a senior in high school when I was born and she often tells the story of that night. . .

On the evening of the 21st, she went into labor and they headed to the hospital. It was snowy that day. I’m not sure if it had already snowed or if it was snowing but I do know the roads were not great.

When they got to the hospital, nurses checked mom out but she wasn’t dilated that far yet so the doctor decided it was going to be a while and just before midnight, he decided he was going to head home.

Well, he barely got to the parking lot when they went running after him to tell him to get his butt back inside because it was happening!

And so at 4 minutes after midnight, on January 22, I arrived, a whole 5 pounds, and 6 days early. (And the doctor almost didn’t make it back inside for the delivery!)

There’s no snow today on my birthday and I’m totally ok with that! It is raining, though, and I went to Starbucks earlier and got my free birthday drink – a Butterscotch latte.

Even though 47 is not yet turning out to be what I anticipated and wished for, I’m safe, I have roof over my head, food to eat, and I have some of the most awesome friends and family on the planet.

Thank you for sticking with me another year and I hope 2020 brings us all the dreams, the magic, the love, and the abundance we all can handle.
