You know houses are on my mind lately LOL

So, what is the average price for a home where you live?

Where we live in Snohomish County Washington, about an hour North of Seattle, the median price for a home in our town is $489,925, though the average for the county is $547,000.

In Asheville, the biggest city near us, the median price is $311,000. Here in Waynesville, which is 30-45 minutes west of Asheville and more rural/“in the country,” it’s $220,000.

  2. Houses are on my mind too, since I rent and want out… can’t wrap my head around paying ridiculous amounts of money for a house someone else built that’s reliant on the grid. My partner and I have been doing our research, and we’ve decided on building our own self-sustaining house etc. We’ve determined that we could have a house and a greenhouse and a garden with everything we’d possibly need, for well under $10,000. Now just have to find the private land! I always get what I want. Haha!!

Average around 700k but we have neighborhoods in the 300-500k ranges and then neighborhoods where houses are a 1 million plus. Prices are just crazy here but the property taxes we pay is much worse.

  4. And I remember the 80s when US property was cheap as chips. And UK was soaring slowly. Ah…the good old days.

Annapolis media prices now are about 500,000, though you could get something in the 435, 450 range. New homes are going from 500 up.
