I wrote this last year and it popped up in my memories today as we’re experiencing a very challenging day and week this week with some huge, huge (though, thankfully, temporary), challenges. . .

Moving forward after challenges and setbacks can be intimidating, even paralyzing. It can produce anxiety and fear. In years past when I found myself in such a space, I would push through, get things done. I had an attitude of “no one is going to stop me – not even me.” It wasn’t hateful or destructive, though there was definitely an air of anger underlying everything.

When we get in these spaces, we just want the pain to go away. We want things to be better, dammit! We want a feeling of hope and trust and to feel like what we’re doing, who we are, actually matters in the grand scheme of things.

And you know what?

Here’s the truth:

We always matter. What we do, who we are – always matters. Even when things suck. Even when we’re frustrated. Or hurting. Or sad. We always matter.

And the way forward is by slowing down into your own heart and soul. Always. The way forward is always by returning to a place of love. ❤️
